I spent five wonderful days in beautiful Trollhättan, Sweden as Nordic Song Festival’s composer in residence 5th-9th August 2022. As part of the residency my opera Music and the Brain was performed three times, I taught two vocal masterclasses of my songs Vetrarþoka / Winger Fog and Fossinn Minn (My Waterfall) as well as giving a lecture about my music. Sadly I missed the local chamber choir’s performance of my choral piece Vorsól (Spring Sung), as I had to fly to Iceland to be attend rehearsals of my latest opera Þögnin (The Silence).
Thank you again for having me Nordic Song Festival, I had a blast.
