My new work “Þrjú ljóð fyrir Loftslagið / Three poems for the Climate” for vocal quartet was premiered in Iceland earlier this month, 6th November 2021, in Norðurljós (Nordurljos - Northern Lights) Hall in Harpa, Reykjavík. The piece is made up of three short movements, each based on a poem written by school children about our environment and our climate crisis. The three movements are 1. Plast er Drasl (Pastic is Garbage), 2. Í draumi mínum (In my dream), and 3. Dósin (the can).

The work was a commission from Óperudagar (Opera Days) festival and sponsored by RÚV composer fund.
It was a very moving performance by Ingibjörg Fríða Helgadóttir soprano, Kristín Sveinsdóttir alto, Þorkell Helgi tenor, and Örn Ýmir Arason bass.
